Setting Goals

March Goals

As we enter a new month it’s time to re-assess my goals! I have been feeling a little all over the place lately and torn between my many priorities. Between home, work and school, I am a busy person and a lot of the times the things that I would like to do don’t really line up with the things I need to do. 

As an added bonus last month ended with a fun new barrier being thrown in our faces, the Mr. has been laid off again! AGAIN! He works in trades and the company that he works for has to bid on jobs, (I’m sure a lot of you know what I’m talking about) and I guess they just didn’t do a very good job at it last month. Like I said, this has happened before, but the last time it was a little more fun, as it was over the summer and meant that we were able to spend a lot of the time off out at the cabin! This time it has put a bit of a damper in a lot of our plans. 

So after taking a deep breath and calming my anxiety down, we looked at the numbers and decided that over all we are going to be ok! We won’t be going on the trips we had planned (yet!) or buying the new things for the house that we wanted… but I will get to spend more time with my Mr. which is the one thing that I wanted above all else <3

So without further ado… 

My March Goals 

My goals usually surround the general theme of Health, Happiness and Adventure (the all important trifecta of a good life). When it comes to Health my biggest problem is consistency! I’m busy and often my best intentions have very little follow through. I think currently I make it to the gym 2 times a week, and swimming at least once! I recently managed 25 laps, which I’m pretty proud of, but I hoped I would have gotten farther by now. As inconsistent as I am when it comes to working out I am even worst at eating healthy and these are things that have to change. I have decided that my Health Goals for this month are as follows 

  1. Be able to do 36 laps swimming (go twice a week) 
  2. Go to the gym twice a week 
  3. Do yoga once a week
  4. Learn to cook more fast, easy but healthy meals 

My Happiness goal is currently one in the same with my blogging goals! Starting today (the first) I am launching my creativity challenge! Being creative and crafty is a big part of who I am, but in the last while I have had to let some of those hobbies slide to the side. Not taking the time to do the things I love is making me feel unfulfilled and joyless and that just simply cannot be a thing anymore!

My second happiness goal is to find more ways that the Mr. and I can have fun together, without spending a lot of $$ – anyone have any great date night ideas? I’d be happy to hear them. Please comment below!  

As for Adventure, this one is a little tricky. We’re at that awkward season here in the Okanagan Valley where you don’t know what the weather is going to be like one day to the next! Today it Rained, snowed, hailed, and then the sun shined… and then it did it all again! I really enjoy time outdoors but I am not big on being wet or cold! My favourite past time is hiking, and I have every intention of getting out as often as I can this month, but since it might not be easy, I have set a future Adventure goal. The Mr. and I got married last August and I really want to be able to do a trip to celebrate our one year anniversary. So I have started a savings plan! My goal is to add 100$ to my savings this month. The end goal is to have 500$ saved that will hopefully take us away to one of the nearby hot springs (I love living in BC).

All of that and I haven’t even included the homework that I should do, or the house reno’s that still haven’t been finished (but Shh!)   

Before I go I would like to impart a little lesson onto you that I am  recently learning. Take the bumps in the road slowly and you will make it over them. We were hit with a couple disappointments lately, but I am doing my best to not let it slow me down! We might not have much money right now but we have each other and that means more then anything. My biggest goal this month is to enjoy every minute of it with my love, and to let my creative side go free!
