Looking back- First month bullet Journalling

Every year come New Years (or sometimes just because something big in my life is changing), I buy a new journal. This year I decided to give Bullet Journalling a try, cause it seems to be all the rage. So I went off to the mall and bought myself a pretty turquoise leuchtturm1917 with the dotted pages. I was happy as soon as I opened it up. The pages felt blank and open to all sorts of possibilities and those little dots added a sense of order and guidelines. I decided that this Bullet Journal would be only for journalling my life and creating awesome layouts for all the big plans that I have for my life, not for just planning my day-to-day.

 

 

Calendar Page 

I’ve always kind of liked creating calendars, and I have them everywhere. The calendars at the beginning of my months will be to commemorate the big moments, the things that I want to remember, like going to see star wars with my dad and my brother or seeing old friends, and the time that I spent out at my cabin with my Mr. 

The page isn’t packed with stuff but I loved each day and they meant everything to me. Remembering these moments in my life have always been the main reason that I kept a journal. I can look back on them anytime and essentially travel back to the day. My life has been chronicled since about grade 6 and I think that’s going to be great to have one day.

 

Fitness Trackers

I strive to be as fit as possible, but I have a very short attention span and sometimes working towards goals with out getting side tracked is a bit of an issue for me, so I created three different fitness trackers to help me keep on my goals! I hope to build up to being able to run 5K and Swim 50 Laps  before I turn 30 (which is in April and I am no where close) I love filling in the little boxes or checking them off..being able to say that is something that I have done! Food Log 

As long as I was on this path towards a healthier fitter body, I felt like I might as well try to fix my eating habits a little to. I know they are by far from perfect but I wasn’t sure how bad it actually was (since I usually couldn’t tell you what I ate yesterday). I created a food log for January to track what I was eating, and how much I was spending on food (outside of grocery budget). I’ve come to the conclusion that I not only have an awful sugar habit, but I seem to have a bit of a Tim Hortons addiction to. With their delicious french vanilla, and yummy breakfast, donuts and muffins, all for a relatively low price, it’s hard to resist. I realized that I stop in there 3-4 times a week and that adds up in calories, sugar, processed foods and cost quite quickly. Next step will be cutting that habit right out! 

 

So… I struggle a bit with anxiety… it’s not a take over my life issue but sometimes I handle stress a little worst then I should, and I panic when I know I don’t need to. Planning is one way that I have learnt to deal with this. If I know what I need to do and when I get by ok. Sometimes though the list gets a little long and life gets away from me… does this sound familiar to anyone? 

Well recently I had one of those moments and in the haze of trying to plan around everything I decided to figure out my priorities. I needed somewhere to start.  started with a huge BRAIN DUMP! I wrote everything out that was on my mind in one big messy list. I then scanned through that and pulled out some re occurring themes, as those were obviously the most important to me. I broke those down and those down until I had a manageable list.

The last layout that I created for the month of January was a blog planner and I am so excited to share it with you! it include multiple sections for me  to jot down my random ideas, a nice long to do list and a page just for planning my posts and tracking where I have shared it! 

I think I’m going to stick with the bullet journal for a while longer. It’s a lot of fun, it adds a bit more organization to my life and it’s something new!
